Wabi Tea Set

Five-piece tea set thrown in Shigaraki clay — a famously unruly material that forms its own surface character in the kiln. Each piece is numbered, not matched. Our ceramicist Keiko Tanaka spent three months calibrating the firing sequence to achieve the ash glaze's characteristic 'drip stop' at the foot.
